Our little monkey Zoe just had her first big-girl bath in the big tub with Dad yesterday, and it was a blast! While she’s not ready for a rubber duckie yet, she loved the idea of having company in the tub ;)

Besides, she’s getting big now, right? From 6 lbs 9 oz at birth, she’s now 10 lbs 11 oz just 2 months later… She’ll be grown before we know it. In fact, people keep reminding us of that constantly, so in case you’re one of those folks, don’t worry, we’re enjoying every single ounce of her!

She just had her 2-month wellness visit on Thursday and got her first vaccinations. Needless to say, NOT her favorite visit to the doctor (or ours either, for that matter). I know there’s a lot of controversy around vaccinations in general, but another reason we love our pediatrician is that she recommended we split up the shots so she doesn’t get so much at once. So basically, we’ll go every month versus every 2 months. She also patiently walked us through the 2 shots she gave her, explaining what they were and why she chose those over other options. And she gave us a handouts on vaccinations and what to expect.

That, however, did not prevent me from calling the doctor near the end of the day to make sure that random fussiness and an elevated temperature were normal (which they are). Nor did it stop me from then calling my sister to confirm those facts (which she did). It’s hard to think about injecting a 10-pound baby with 17 “illnesses” in one day, though. Her shots were Pentacel (DTaP & Polio) and Prevnar (13 strains of pneumococcal bacteria). I’m trying not to think about it…
